The Bush Stanford Office Collection has everything you need for the home or professional office! Each piece, sold separately, is made of laminated particle board with an antique black finish and a cherry finished work surface. The Computer Desk features a CPU cabinet (20.63"H x 10.827"W x 19.291"D) and keyboard pull-out with a dropdown front and an additional office supply drawer. An optional hutch, sold separately, offers additional storage and a professional look, with open storage, two shutter-door cabinets (inner dimensions: 17.047"H x 11.378"W x 10.610"D) and two lower shelves for files in progress.
For additional office storage, the lateral file, sold separately, offers two large drawers with metal pulls, perfect for small to large filing jobs. This file cabinet can hold legal or letter files. Assembly level/degree of difficulty: Complex or Lengthy. A restocking fee will be deducted if this item is returned.

My office is in our dining area (we have an open space in our home, no real definition between rooms) so I needed something that looked less "officey" and more "homey". This works beautifully. Well made, esp. well made for the money, relatively easy to assemble. Seems that the contents of my 4 old metal (ugly) cabinets will fit into this cabinet easily.
Handsome for the Value August 3, 2007
I needed some file storage and did not want it to dominate the space (my small home office.) This lateral file fits the bill perfectly. A couple of tips: use a manual ratchet screwdriver. All the pertinent holes are predrilled. The instruction manual saves you by simply displaying illustrations on how to construct the unit. It will take you about 2.5 hours to complete. The unit is heavy and sturdy. It looks terrific when it is completed and betrays the price paid.
Oh... one more thing... the cherry top matches the cherry finish on my Ethan Allen desk; a series which as been discontinued and would have cost more that twice the price had it still been available.

I liked the look of this product but found it difficult to put together. It took 8 hours for me to assemble. I didn't realize the file cabinet was press board--I thought it was wood...a disappointment. This item was very heavy, has flimsy plastic parts that won't last long, and a veneer that easily chips. The cabinet needed two people to complete.
