Love this desk! July 21, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I bought this exact desk about 5 years ago. It has held up very well, considering all the use it gets (kids and grandkids) and I think it is a perfect size. I put my computer on the floor and use both shelves for storage. My printer fits perfectly on the top shelf.
I love the contoured desktop, as you can fit more "junk" on it. It was fairly easy to assemble, and is very sturdy. I wipe it down with a damp cloth once in a while, and it looks like new.
Just be sure you want the shelves on the left side, as you can get desks with the shelves on the right....depending on where the desk is going in your room.
For $79.00, you can't go wrong!
Just right computer desk August 31, 2008 I ordered this desk for my daughter. She is an on-line college student & just got a new computer. So, of course she needed a new desk to go under the new computer. It was delivered quickly but the top piece of the desk had a few cracks, so we emailed Stacks & Stacks & they sent us a new top, which arrived a few days ago & has no cracks. We are happy with the desk, it's cute, just the right size with a little storage compartment along the side. Good price also, which is hard to find as most any type of furniture is overpriced. You can usually find just what you need through Amazon. com. Thank you, Yvette in California
Good desk. July 18, 2007 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
The desk arrived at my front door in a heavy, compact, box that was easy for me to lift and carry up to my loft.
Assembly of the desk required only a screwdriver and a hammer and was reasonably easy thanks to clear directions and well labeled parts.
The desk looks very nice and fits my computer and books well. However, it is very short. I know the desk is called a student desk, but it is bordering on a child's desk. I'm only 5'-6" tall and my knees hit the keyboard tray when sitting in a regular computer chair. I would not recommend anyone over 5'-10" tall ordering this desk for themselves.
Other than the height problem this is a sturdy desk that looks good and was easy to assemble.
Buyer beware - not much oak, mostly pressboard November 1, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
You get what you pay for, and I should have known that "oak" meant pressboard with a very thin oak laminate layer. The size is great for a small office space, but after looking at the "chipped" pressboard (due to shipping damage), the plastic hardware, the fall apart styrofoam packaging, and the non-oak quality, I put it back in the box and dropped it off for charity. It wasn't worth shipping back.
$77 shipping? May 31, 2006 10 out of 14 found this review helpful
Excuse me, but who's going to buy this if the shipping is going to cost twice as much as the product itself??
