5 out of 5 stars Great little light for the price.   February 13, 2009

I just received this yesterday and my 9 year old son really likes it. It is very small, lightweight, and can be clipped to a book or laptop computer or even placed standing-up on a nightstand. There are 2 clips on the unit: The one in the picture slips over a book. There is another one on the back that is spring-loaded and can be pulled out to put the light on a laptop computer.

The telescoping arms don't extend very far (maybe 6-8"), but it is fine for the intended purpose. One great feature is the rotating head. It can rotate 360 degrees so that you can aim the light exactly where it is needed. The beam is wide enough to easily light up a full-size book, even when attached directly to it. The light also has a 3-way on/off switch that cycles between full-on, a bit dimmer, and off. This is nice if the full-on is too bright for you. I think this light is a great bargain at Amazon's price.

5 out of 5 stars Great light and easy on the batteries   February 24, 2010

Bought this for my daughter. She loves it. Perfect amount of light for reading and easy enough to angle. Its been on many hours and still have not had to charge the batteries even once. Has 2 light levels but the high is best. Would buy again. Got it for five bucks on amazon a while back. Great value.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Kindle Light at Last!   December 12, 2009
Dr. Carole R. Eldridge RN (Springfield, MO)
I have purchased at least a dozen different book lights in my search for the perfect light for my Kindle. This is it at last! The unit clips securely to the Kindle cover (I have a K1), sheds light over the entire screen without shadows or glare, and is compact for carrying in my purse. Requires 3 AAA batteries, which are easy to replace and last a long time. The light is simple to adjust and I don't have to fight with a floppy gooseneck. This 4-bulb light is not quite as bright as the 5-bulb ritelite with the long flexible neck (also a good light), but it's certainly bright enough for reading my Kindle comfortably. Great buy, one of my favorite purchases recently, and I'm buying more for every Kindle reader in the family.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for eInk ebook readers   March 7, 2010
Loyd Phillips (Spokane, WA USA)
Several reviewers have commented on using this with the Kindle. I agree entirely although I use it on an Astak Pocket Pro with a 5-inch screen. The two make a perfect combination. The Rite Lite's full spectrum light really makes the text stand out, almost as good as reading in direct sunlight and more visible than reading a paper book in the same situation. For reading in bed in the dark this light with an ebook reader are perfect. Book lights on paper books make the pages hard to turn and they seldom light both pages fully. When reading an ebook this light covers the page entirely and of course, page turns are just a button press so I find I'm soon immersed in my reading with nothing to interrupt my concentration. The Rite Lite clips securely to the folded back ebook cover and the adjustable light head lets you easily direct the light across the entire page.

Like others commented, I too tried for years to find a better book light. Until recently I just used them with paper books. I've tried dozens of different lights. Reading paper books and left bright and shadowy spots on the page but it was possible. I haven't tried using this one with a paper book but I suspect a book light made for use with paper books would work better for that application.

5 out of 5 stars Good Little Light   March 15, 2010
Jordan A. Zimmerman (Leavenworth KS)
So my wife and I just had a new baby boy. So at night when he wakes up to be fed I change his diapers before handing him off to momma. He would get very angry when i turned on the ovrhead light to change his diapers. At first I tried a LED pen light that I keep around the house. I aimed it by putting it in my teeth so that I would ahve both hands free. Not the best solution in my opinion. So I thought about getting a battery operated picture frame light when I ran across this usefull little tool. The diaper changing area is a converted dresser and I clip the light to the mirror. The only thing you can see is the light, the battery pack is behind the mirror. This little light is more thatn enough to light up the diaper changing area without distubing the little guy. Why didnt I think of this with my first child.
