Can't beat it for the price January 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For disposable furniture this is a wonderful desk. As long you don't have to move it (house move) then it should last a long time. As with all compressed wood furniture it can not be moved without breaking it.
I am very happy with it and would buy it again. Assembly price was more then a few hours, but I was by myself and was preoccupied doing this among other things.
Quality expected for the price September 21, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'd like to give it 3 stars -- but really have to give it 4 stars for the price. It is amazingly beautiful -- as far as the frosted glass door, modern curved handles, and style. The high quality of hinges for the door was suprising. But it is what it is -- press board covered with a paper image of wood. The same day I assembled it, I had a piece of transparent tape on the desk for just a few seconds and it pulled up the "wood". I covered the mars with wood filler and it's not too noticeable. The assembly takes a while, but every piece is labeled with a letter/number that makes it almost fool proof. However my manual was missing pages and I had to have Bush fax the manual -- they don't have a PDF on-line. As with most assembly required furniture I have experience with, the holes for the door were not placed correctly to line the door with the drawer -- I re-drilled and wood filled the pre-drilled holes. Not off much -- probably would only bother 1 anal person out of 10. It's a very nice design and is working out well for what I needed -- a sewing table and computer table that takes minimal space in my guest room.
Great Space Saver February 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Actually we bought this desk twice. In our old house we HAD to get a coner desk and my husband loved it so much, we bought it again, this time for the both of us. We have a 10x10 office and we need our own space. These were great- we have them back to back heading out from the wall instead of in the corners. My tower is too bulky for the cabinet, so we removed the door and it still looks nice.
The only cons with these desks, is #1 they do not move. Once they are together they are staying in the room. You can move it to clean, but not bring them, let's say, upstairs. #2 con, don't get it wet! It is made of paper so use a coaster or your top coat will melt away. Also, don't use tape or any repetative scraping...that also takes off the paper coat. All in all, great desk lots of space and a perfect fit.
corner desk December 22, 2007 The only problem with ordering this desk is having it shipped. You will be very lucky to get it without any damage during shipping. My order had to be resent twice which is the maximum number of times Amazon allows, and then I had to contact the manufactuer to have the broken pieces delevered by truck. I ended up waiting over a month to finally get everything!!!
Nice Desk, Difficult Assembly October 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I enjoyed putting this desk together but I will say it's not for everybody. There are about 30 pieces of wood and when you count all the hardware there must be 200 pieces to assemble. In total it probably took about ten hours to assemble including a trip to the hardware store to replace a screw that was defective and could not be used. Now that the assembly is done, I'm pretty happy with the desk, it looks pretty good, seems functional and for the size of it the price was right. But beware if you're looking for quick and easy assembly, this is not it!
